The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) has started to accept applications for Parole-in-Place. Parole-in-Place, also known as “Keeping Families Together” is a Presidential Executive Order created to help spouses and stepchildren of U.S. citizens who are unlawfully present inside the United States. Eligibility is granted on a case-by-case basis.
In order to qualify for Parole-in-Place, eligible applicants are required to file a Form I-131F, Application for Parole in Place for Certain Noncitizen Spouses and Stepchildren of U.S. Citizens online and include a US$580 filing fee with their application. No fee waivers or fee exemptions are available at this time. To assist eligible applicants with this new process, USCIS has created a Filing Guide.
