Enterline and Partners hold Immigration Seminar for Vietnamese Entrepreneurs

Enterline and Partners Consulting partners David Enterline and Ryan Barshop held a seminar on 18 July 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City on U.S. nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories for entrepreneurs and business people wanting to do business in the United States.

Mr. Enterline and Mr. Barshop introduced the following U.S. visas:

  • B-1/ B-2 Visitor Visa especially the use of the B-1 for business purposes
  • L-1A Intracompany Transfer Visa
  • E-1 and E-2 Treaty Trader and Treaty Investor Visas
  • EB-1A Immigrant Visa for Individuals with Extraordinary Ability in the Science, Arts, Business, Education, or Athletics
  • EB-1C Immigrant Visa for Multinational Executives or Managers
  • EB-2 Immigrant Visa for Individuals with Exceptional Ability in the Science, Arts or Business and the National Interest Waiver
  • EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa

For the B-1/B-2 visa, Mr. Barshop discussed strategies for the visa application and how someone might overcome a previous denial. An energized and informative Q&A session followed. The seminar was well received by the attendees.

DOS Suspends F M and J Student Visa Interviews to Expand Social Media Vetting Process

The United States Department of State (“DOS”) has ordered all Embassies and Consulates to stop scheduling new appointments for applicants applying for F, M, and J student visas. In a released cable, DOS Secretary Marco Rubio said that the suspension is in place because DOS plans to expand the screening process of applicants’ social media. “The Department is conducting a review of existing operations and processes for screening and vetting of student and exchange visitor (F, M, J) visa applicants, and based on that review, plans to issue guidance on expanded social media vetting for all such applicants,” commented Rubio on a signed cable. “Effective immediately, in preparation for an expansion of required social media screening and vetting, consulate sections should not add any extra student or exchange visitor visa appointment capacity,” Rubio continued. David Enterline Receives I-829 Petition Award For 2024 From IIUSA

David Enterline of Enterline and Partners was recognized by IIUSA as having obtained Form I-829 Petition by Investor to Remove Conditions on Permanent Resident Status (“I-829 Petition”) approvals for his EB-5 immigrant investor clients in 2024.  David was recognized along with a select group of EB-5 Regional Centers and experienced EB-5 attorneys who have successfully assisted their investors and clients. The award was presented at the 2025 IIUSA EB-5 Industry Forum in Houston, Texas from April 28th to 30th. IIUSA (Invest in the USA) is the national membership-based association for the EB-5 Regional Center Program (“Program”). What is Trump’s Self-Deportation Executive Order?

On May 9, 2025, President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order (“EO”) aimed at incentivizing undocumented migrants to voluntarily leave the United States in exchange for a cash bonus and a free flight. The EO, entitled Project Homecoming authorizes the U.S. government to pay a $1000 stipend for a one-way plane ticket to any foreign country of their choice. According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”), it costs an average of $17,000 to arrest, detain and deport an undocumented migrant. The program, which may be challenged in the federal courts, is estimated to save, according to the Trump Administration, billions of dollars in government expenses as Trump continues to push the administration’s mass deportation policy.
