Announcement: USCIS Temporarily Accepts Electronic Reproduced Signature on All Forms

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) announced that it will accept benefit forms and documents with reproduced original signatures for submissions dated March 21, 2020 and thereafter. The policy change was made in response to the Coronavirus National Emergency declared by President Donald Trump on March 13, 2020.

While USCIS currently accepts various petitions, applications, and documentation with an electronically reproduced original signature, the revised policy will allow forms and other documents normally requiring an original or “wet” signature to be substituted with an electronically reproduced signature throughout the duration of the National Emergency.

Petitioners submitting documentation with electronically reproduced signatures to USCIS must also retain copies of documents containing the original signature. USCIS retains the right to request forms with the original signature, which if not provided, could negatively impact adjudication.
