Important Information for All Vietnam Visa Applicants Beginning October 3, 2022

Beginning October 3, 2022, all Vietnamese immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applicants whose passports were issued starting July 1, 2022 must include a Vietnam government endorsement page that states the place of birth. Visa applicants who do not have an endorsement page will not be permitted to attend their visa interviews and will be required to reschedule at a later date.

Until the new policy takes effect on October 3, the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi and the U.S. Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City is advising all Vietnamese visa applicants to ensure that their place of birth (city/ province/ country) is listed on their DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Applications and DS-260 Immigrant Visa Applications.

USCIS Now Requires Certain Adjustment Of Status Applicants To Submit Medical Examination With Their Form I-485 Application

Effectively immediately, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) will require certain applicants filing a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status to submit a Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record with their Form I-485 Application. Incoming Trump Administration Looks to Deport Migrants to Third-Party Countries

The incoming Trump administration is preparing a list of countries to which it may deport migrants if their home countries refuse to accept them, according to sources. These countries include Turks and Caicos, the Bahamas, Panama and Grenada. If implemented, it could result in thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of migrants being displaced in countries where they do not know anybody, do not speak the language nor have any connection to the culture.
